Alicia Ortego, a beloved children’s book author, came to us with a clear goal: to redesign her website into a vibrant, user-friendly space that beautifully showcases her heartwarming stories, makes book purchases seamless, and gives her a cozy corner to share her thoughts through a blog.

Our journey began with a bright idea: building a magical website for Alicia Ortego, the wonderful children’s book author whose stories inspire kindness and imagination. We wanted her website to feel just as delightful as the books themselves—so we designed colorful, joyful pages that celebrate her work.
We also made it super easy to explore and purchase her books online. With a fully integrated shop and secure Stripe payments, fans can now grab their favorite titles in just a few clicks.
And the magic doesn’t stop there! We added a cozy blog space where Alicia can share her thoughts, writing tips, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into her creative world. Now readers can dive into her stories, support her work, and connect with her voice—all in one lovely place.

Technology
To bring Alicia’s magical world to life online, we kicked things off in Figma, sketching out colorful designs and playful layouts that matched the energy of her books.
Under the hood, the site runs on WordPress with a custom WooCommerce setup powering the online store. We used Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to give Alicia’s team the freedom to update content easily—no tech wizardry needed.
Payments? Smooth as ever. We plugged in Stripe, PayPal, and Google Pay so visitors can check out however they like. We even built in smart delivery logic that changes shipping options based on the customer’s state—because details matter.
Add a sprinkle of custom JavaScript and CSS, and you get a site that’s not only beautiful but also fast, flexible, and fun to use—for both readers and Alicia’s team.
